Well folks, this is it. Tomorrow is the BIG DAY, and the final day for us to turnout voters for Election 2024. We have knocked doors, attended events, talked with voters, posted photos, encouraged volunteers, and created lasting friendships throughout this campaign. In the midst of complex emotions and fighting back feelings of fear and powerlessness, we have shown up. There is a determination in our fight for freedom. And what I want to make completely clear is that IT CANNOT AND MUST NOT END HERE.
Democracy dies in apathy, despair and fear. Should our Blue Wave prevail, it will be too easy for many of us to go back to our “regularly scheduled programming”. But we cannot do that. You see, for folks who live in House District 60, there is still an environmental disaster of contaminated water being cleaned up in Martinsville. Morgan County still ranks as having one of the highest cancer rates in the state and nation. Securing safe and affordable housing is becoming harder and harder for families in Morgan, Johnson and Monroe Counties. Healthcare access and quality Education remain vulnerable to state policies already in place. So, no matter who gets elected, we still have work to do. [And if a Red Wave prevails, we will need each other more than ever.]
It starts by committing to build base. We must continue to build People Power to hold electeds accountable. All those organizations that have been texting you to Get Out The Vote, amazing groups like MADVoters, Stand Up Indiana, and Hoosiers for Democracy? We need to work with them during the off-election year, connecting with voters over important issues, so our persuasion work during the 2026 MidTerms is not such a heavy lift. We need to go where the people are and deeply listen to their concerns. We need to share our concerns, too. We must continue showing people that we are powerful when we work together. We need to continue electing quality candidates that put Hoosiers first.
No matter what happens tomorrow, I cannot imagine feeling more thankful and more committed to doing the work necessary to create real change for Indiana.
Let’s Do This Together!

My name is Michelle Higgs, and I am running to represent House District 60. If you want a different voice in the Statehouse, someone who champions people over profiteers or partisan politics, please consider me your next State Representative. I would be honored to receive your support and, most importantly, your vote this election.
